Setting Students with ADHD Up for Success: Strategies for the Physical Education Lesson

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. Symptoms of ADHD often include some combination of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, making school adjustment a challenge. Therefore, physical education (PE) teachers may be interested in strategies to improve the learning environment for students with ADHD. In this session, modifications for PE lessons and environments will be introduced and discussed.
